Route 66 Fun Run

Fun Run

“To have fun...”

Ask a stupid question and get a ...well, a blunt answer.

Every year the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona holds it’s annual “Route 66 Fun Run”. This 3 day event starts Friday evening in Seligman and ends Sunday in Topock. It’s a leisurely cruise that has no check points or timed stages. There is no proper departure time, but if you do sleep in and get a late start in Seligman, you might find the Saturday car show in Kingman has started with out you!

It was during this “Fun Run” I happened upon something I didn’t expect to see. A Ferrari 599 and Lamborghini Diablo mixed in the vintage Buicks, Chevrolets, and Fords. Drawn to this odd sight of Italian super cars, I approached the owner of the Ferrari 599 and casually asked “So what brings you and your friend out to Route 66 and this Fun Run?”. With out a beat he smiled and casually replied “To have fun of course.” ...Silly me.
