History and Taming of the Dragon

Found amongst the sea¬†of Appalachia, lies the Tail of the Dragon, covering eastern Tennessee¬†into western North Carolina. Along the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, the 11-mile route features 318 curves. The lore and notoriety of this road rings true. The locals characterize the route as, “as fierce as a dragon’s tail.” So at least the name stands appropriate. Part of U.S. route 129, the Dragon today has grown exponentially in popularity. Thrill-seekers and car fanatics alike flock to the Dragon to catch of glimpse of this fiery foe. Luckily, Via Corsa Magazine was able to get a firsthand experience. In our sixth issue, follow us as we get the first-hand experience of the Dragon following members of Speedwerkz Exotic Car Museum on a lovely fall afternoon.
