Dragons and Vipers, Oh MY!

History and Taming of the Dragon

Found amongst the sea of Appalachia, lies the Tail of the Dragon, covering eastern Tennessee into western North Carolina. Along the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, the 11-mile route features 318 curves. The lore and notoriety of this road rings true. The locals characterize the route as, “as fierce as a dragon’s tail.” So at least the name stands appropriate. Part of U.S. route 129, the Dragon today has grown exponentially in popularity. Thrill-seekers and car fanatics alike flock to the Dragon to catch of glimpse of this fiery foe. Luckily, Via Corsa Magazine was able to get a firsthand experience. In our sixth issue, follow us as we get the first-hand experience of the Dragon following members of Speedwerkz Exotic Car Museum on a lovely fall afternoon.
